"Farmington Historical Society Celebrates 75 Years of Service"
The Farmington Historical Society was founded on November 11, 1949. This past November 11th marked 75 years of service the Farmington Historical Society has given to Farmington. Over that time we have developed the Museum of Farmington History, expanded the museum to have an online component, preserved hundreds of artifacts, hosted presentations and programs, provided scholarships to Farmington students pursuing major in history and the social studies, and participated in a wide variety of Farmington town events.
One of our most useful and lasting projects was to digitize the Farmington News, which was published between 1870 and 1979, and host a searchable database for it online.
The Historical Society would like to celebrate its 75 years of preserving history by hosting another Farmington publication, the Puddledock Press, published from 1979 to 2019, in an online searchable database.
We ask that you help us preserve the Puddledock Press by making a contribution to the Society, to help support the project, which will cost around $2500 to complete.
