#FarmingtonNH Glass Yard Finds Donated To #Museum

A Farmington  resident found some wonderful old bottles under their grass in their backyard recently and decided to donate them to the museum collection.. They are circa1860-1890. One is from a local pharmacy in Farmington (Parker's Pharmacy, 7 Main street, before enhanced 911 changed Main Street addresses). 

Finding glass bottles downtown is quite common. Most properties had disposal areas or pits where used items would be disposed of. China, pottery silverware, and glass are most commonly found in these, as they are most resistant to weathering, water,and our freeze thaw cycle.
